What is the mystery of the aircraft 1897?

One plane was seen in 1896 and 1897 America.This thought it was six years before the Wright brothers flight. Therefore many believe was a UFO and not a man made object.Others feel it was a hoax or possibly a real aircraft manufactured in secret by an unknown inventor, U.S. government or the military. Several books give different views on this ana therefore I am a little confused.

nobody knows … so it remains a mystery … a lot of theories are out there. the government probably knows. or was it a small inventor who never went further then what makes for his own amusment and self-esteem, and its already rotten in the attic of a farm. lol
